The State Institution "Territorial Medical Association of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Chernihiv Oblast" рexpanded medical care by creating a 25-bed surgical unit (including an intensive care unit and a 5-bed intensive care unit)

A set of standard repairs of the surgical department's premises was carried out in compliance with the State Construction Standards (DBN B.2.2.-10:2001 "Buildings and structures. Healthcare Facilities", DBN B.2.5.-67:2013 "Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning") and State Standards of Ukraine (DSTU ISO 14644 "Cleanrooms and Related Controlled Environments"). The access road to the hospital was repaired.

The main task of the Surgical Department is to provide qualified emergency and planned surgical care to surgical patients in the scope of the second-level healthcare facilities and within its competence.

Specialists in the Surgical Department provide medical care in the following areas:

• general surgery;
• orthopedics and traumatology;
• Gynecology;
• otorhinolaryngology;
• urology.

On 04.01.2023, the first surgical intervention was performed - septoplasty.

Septoplasty is a surgical intervention aimed at aligning the nasal septum and moving it to the desired position in the nasal cavity.

To date, the surgical department of the hospital of the State Institution "TMA of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Chernihiv Oblast" has performed the following surgical interventions: septoplasty; endoscopic micro sinusotomy, herniotomy, arthroscopic meniscectomy, ankle bone osteosynthesis, skin lipoma removal, removal of aortic atheroma, and others. A total of 54 surgical interventions were performed.

The surgical department is equipped with modern medical equipment:

• Lung ventilators;
• Vacuum therapy apparatus;
• Leon Plus anesthesia devices;
• Caelus Life anesthetic station with VCV gas module;
• TXL-W8 mobile X-ray machine;
• Video endoscopic complex;
• Gynecological chair FG-04;
• Electro-hydraulic operating table with a t-shaped base;
• Capnograph CO2 monitor;
• Anesthetic ceiling consoles;
• Laser surgical lithotripsy system Dornier Medilas H Solvo 35;
• Laparoscopic stand ALVO MEDICAL;
• Modular patient monitors;
• Cios Select mobile C-arched X-ray system;
• Ultrasound diagnostic scanner HM70 EVO;
• ETIUDA operating table with electro-hydraulic drive with a 5-section table top;
• Cystoscope;
• Other medical equipment and surgical instruments.

The operating room of the Surgical Department has state-of-the-art equipment, and high-quality medical equipment, and is supplied with oxygen, carbon dioxide, compressed air, and waste anesthetic gases. It is equipped with an automatic 5-stage 15-fold air preparation, disinfection, and purification system. In the event of a power outage, the operating room operates using an alternative source (diesel generator).

Health preservation, accessibility, and quality of medical care for police officers, servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and their family members is a priority for the State Institution "MIA of Ukraine in Chernihiv Oblast".
